The idea behind Squifer guitars was first dreamt up back in 1996 by Matt Grieg, Paul Daniel and Pat Goodbourn. The purpose of the exercise was to provide ourselves with at least half decent guitars. It would have been a stupid idea if it wasn't for the fact that two of the founding members - Matt and Paul, were left handed. They worked through 1997 selecting woods and hardware, cutting, shaping, routing, sanding, finishing and wiring - finally Squifer came into being.
